At Geneton, he leads a team responsible for bioinformatics research and development, as well as the implementation of the acquired methodologies in clinical practice. Active multidisciplinary cooperation has led to numerous publications, especially in the field of genomics, metagenomics, and bioinformatics. He is the co-author of 7 patents (3 approved, 4 filed) in the topics of non-invasive detection of chromosomal disorders of the fetus, interpretation of structural variants, and privacy of genomic data.
In 2018, he was awarded the Ľudmila Sedlárová-Rabanová Prize “for outstanding scientific results in the field of the development of new bioinformatics tools for the analysis of genomic DNA sequences”. In 2019, he became the principal researcher of the study of identification and genotyping of STR motifs with a focus on clinical diagnostics. He is responsible for the overall coordination of the study, selection of suitable DNA samples for analysis, advanced laboratory and in silico analyzes, evaluation of results, and preparation of publications. He is the national research coordinator for the European COVID-19 Research Data Platform initiative.
