Prerequisites and co-requisites: Mathematics is expected to be on high school knowledge level and work with excel at a slightly advanced level. Knowledge of the programming language is not necessary.
Course information sheet: Working with mean and median, their advantages, disadvantages and appropriate use. What is dispersion, standard deviation, covariance and correlation, their usage, interpretation and relationship to Gaussian distribution. Practical usage of these indicators in common tasks. Basic graphical interpretation of one-dimensional data using histograms and column graphs, pie graphs and box-plots. Graphical comparison of data files.
Acquired knowledge: Independent basic statistical and graphical evaluation of one-dimensional data.
