Course Information: Overview, philosophy and structure of Linux systems. Practical tasks in one of the most popular Linux distributions – Ubuntu. Using basic commands and working in a file system. Installing the necessary bioinformatics packages. The basics of working in the samtools library. Evaluate reading using FastQC.
Knowledge acquired: The philosophy of Linux systems, the basics of working with files, installing software packages, running scripts. Use of standard console bioinformatics tools and evaluation of genomic data quality.
